  • How can I get my child involved in your theatre?
A common misunderstanding, and it's a question we get asked frequently at CTHR. Our company consists of professional adult actors, and we provide entertainment for children and families. However, we make it a primary goal of ours to involve the audience in each of our plays. So come prepared for you and your child to be a part of our productions!
  • Why do the ticket prices and productions sometimes vary by location?
CTHR is a mobile company, and we work as guest artists at the venues in which we perform. Zeiders American Dream Theater, Peninsula Community Theatre, and other venues like these are separate entities; each controls their own box office and sets tickets at the price of their choosing. So in general, the venues set the price, not CTHR, but we guarantee you can expect a quality performance at whatever venue you visit!
  • Where are you located?
CTHR is in residence at Zeiders American Dream Theatre in town center Virginia Beach. Occasionally we will tour to other local theaters- for a complete list of performances/venues, please refer to our season calendar.
  • How old does my child need to be to see one of your productions?
Our programming is appropriate for audiences of all ages, but we find that they are best enjoyed by those aged four and up (but please read on). Each production runs from around 45 minutes to an hour at most. The length is a good factor to keep in mind when deciding if you want to bring your child to a show, particularly if they are three or younger. The most important advice we can give is: no one knows your child better than you! So if you think they would like to attend a high-energy, interactive, funny and enlightening performance, and can sit/stay engaged for a 45 minute period, then we would love to have them! As for bringing older children: we have had everyone from toddlers to seniors enjoy our performances. We regularly have teenagers and grown-ups attend who laugh just as much as our youngest audience members. Don't have a young person in your life, but want to see a show? Come on out! We design our programming to be enjoyable for audiences of all ages. If you have any questions, please email us at info@cthr.org, and we'll be happy to help.

  • I have a production I would like to perform, and am looking for a venue- can CTHR provide me with one?"
No, our company does not currently offer a venue for events.
  • I have a play that I would like CTHR to produce and perform.
CTHR is an independent company that produces all of its own scripts in house. We are fortunate to have several talented playwrights that write their work specifically to be performed by our company. If you have an idea or are interested in collaborating on a new script, we are always open to input.
  • Can I pay royalties to CTHR for one of their scripts, so I can perform it at my own venue?"
The scripts that CTHR produces are the property of the individual playwright. Contact us if you would like to discuss a script.
  • How can I help?
Contact us if you'd like to lend a hand.
